One of our most reputable customers, the Continental electronics factory in Timisoara produced and delivered 92 million parts in 11 years of activity. 15.5 million of these were made in 2018.

Continental Automotive produces airbag control units in the capital city of Banat, electronic braking and parking systems, response loop pedals, control units for special equipment, pneumatic suspension and vertical stabilization, assisted steering units, units suspension control and dynamic load stabilization, standard center display units, Head-Up and Head-Up Combiners and instrument cluster.

One of the innovative products currently being developed is the eAWS system, which replaces the traditional anti-rush bar with an electro-mechanical actuator and represents the chassis control function that solves the conflict between optimized vehicle maneuverability and comfort. By means of this, the electric motor is actuated to generate the torque needed to compensate for the inclination of the vehicle under certain traffic conditions.

The number of orders received by automotive divisions, specialized in automotive electronics, remains unchanged at a high level. As a result of the increasing automation level, the mobility of the future will have more and more room for maneuver for different driving activities. In the future, this will mean that man is thinking, and the vehicle is driving, and Continental technology is the one that takes the wheel for as many cars as possible.

Since 2008, Continental has produced over 20 million sensors for driver-driven driving systems for its worldwide customers, and the trend in this direction is steadily increasing. These sensors are the basis for autonomous vehicles without the driver of the future.

The value of the orders received for the systems created for the purpose of implementing the autonomous management amounts to several million Euros. In 2019 Continental expects that the work done in the field of driver assistance systems will exceed the turnover threshold of € 2 billion at group level. Thus, the technology division consolidates its leadership position in this niche area.
